Episode 2601 Description and Preview
For many quilters, the sight of certain fabrics – flannel quilting fabric, baby quilt fabric, certain prints – can trigger a plethora of memories. Marianne constructed this beautiful quilt using a friend’s fabric stash. Mary and Marianne demonstrate using tools to cut and piece with accuracy to create this touching tribute.
Featured Quilt: Remembered Friends
Represent the 1850s with Remembered Friends. The scraps used in this quilt are from a departed friend of Marianne’s, making this quilt a very special project. A simple design, the Square-in-a-Square block is repeated throughout this quilt. If you don’t have scraps handy, pick up your fat quarters and get started!
Remembered Friends was designed and constructed by Marianne Fons and quilted by LuAnn Downs. This quilt is featured in the Love of Quilting September/October 2015 issue.
