Episode 2409 Description and Preview
Vintage quilts are a never-ending source of inspiration for many. A great way to honor those quilters is by creating contemporary versions, or contemporary quilt patterns, of their designs. Jodie Davis joins Mary Fons to show you how a paper foundation-pieced block is constructed, with great tips to create fabulous and precise angles. The alternating block setting of this quilt makes for an interesting and whimsical design.
Featured Quilt: Endless Chain
Grab your fat quarters and get started! This quilt pattern using fat quarters is a lovely windmill-looking block. This design is reminiscent of a particular old-fashioned quilt seen in the newspapers of the 1940s. It looks contemporary, doesn’t it? Quilts have a way of keeping us on our toes!
Endless Chain was designed, constructed and quilted by Jean Nolte. The quilt is featured in the Love of Quilting May/June 2014 issue.
