Quiltmaker Sandra Holmes was inspired by a quilt called Prairie Queen, made by Gerry Sweem and featured in a 1997 Oxmoor House publication, Scrap Quilts Fast and Fun. Sandra used batik fabrics and a light background for her version, very different from Gerry's homespun plaids and stripes.
