Thanks to the advice of a neighbor, I saved my mother's flannel pajamas and my father's plaid flannel shirts when they passed away. Upon receiving the November/December 2006 Love of Quilting issue, I knew I had finally found the perfect quilt pattern to make my keepsake quilt. I followed the Flannel Brick Road pattern, adding a Dresden Plate center. I sewed a quilt for my brother, each of my four adult children, and for myself...it was quite an undertaking for a beginning quilter, but I finished the quilts in time for Christmas. Tears were shared reminiscent of all the wonderful memories of grandma and grandpa. In this special way, the warmth and love of my parents will be kept alive through a practical and beautiful momento. Thank you,<span clas
