When I saw Summer Flip-Flops in the May-June 2008 issue of Love of Quilting, I knew I'd have to make something similar for my friend's beach condo. During the summer, while sitting on the beach, she helped me trim the fused flip-flop pieces, not knowing that the end result would be made for her. I arranged the 20 blocks on my design wall and began adding coordinating fabrics and substituted pinwheel blocks for log cabin blocks. It went together quickly. My friend was thrilled with her unexpected gift. I enjoy Love of Quilting and anxiously anticipate each issue for more inspiring ideas. Thank you!
