17' x 20', 2008.Buchler has always worked with colorfirst in her profession as an interior designer, and more recently as an art quilter. Several years ago, she retired to Arizona to enjoy the sunshine, and took up quilting. This quilt began as a color study in red and purple, to which Sherryl added appliqu, paint, and even shells. She likes to hand dye her own fabrics, which are then pieced, hand quilted, and embellished. Sherryl also shibori techniques, screen printing, stenciling, and dye painting on her quilts. When she's not sewing, Sherryl loves to read, listen to music, and play contract bridge with her husband.
