Talent and creativity abound in the Art of Quilting feature in Love of Quilting.

36½" x 68", 2007
It is a little known fact among modern-day Christians that St. Francis of Assisi created the first living créche in Greccio, Italy, on Christmas Eve in 1223. Saint Francis wanted to remind parishioners in the small village of the humble circumstances of Christ's birth. Betty Jo Tatum depicts that iconic Nativity scene in this wall hanging, made as a special quilted holiday gift for St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Sterling, Virginia.
