Oregon quilter Janet Fogg won Best of Show in the 2006 Pacific Northwest Quiltfest with this innovative interpretation of the traditional Puss in the Corner block that features her cat Charlie. Janet wanted to illustrate in fabric her longhaired kitty as larger than life, and she certainly succeeded. Working from a photograph, she drafted a full-size pattern of Charlie, and used freezer paper templates for the curved piecing. Janet machine pieced the top with custom-dyed fabric and freehand machine quilted it on her Gammill longarm machine.
