Ann Fahl's cat Oreo is the star of this quilt, the first in a series of eighteen she stitched depicting the mischievous family pet. Oreo loves being outdoors at her Wisconsin home. Here, she has settled into a bright patch of black-eyed Susans, flowers which Ann describes as "sunshine in a vase." The cat and flowers are machine embroidered on a pieced background of six-inch squares. The entire quilt is machine quilted and has hand-beaded flower centers. Oreo's quilts are traveling the country in a exhibition called "A Black and White Tale." Check Ann's Web site for details.
