24' x 22', 2006Shelley Ann Hanson began quilting in 2001, so that she could share a hobby and spend more time with her mother-in-law. Shelley often travels to the California wine country and she sketched this scene on a visit to Sonoma. To make the quilt, she adhered fusible web to hand-dyed fabric, cut small pieces from it, and fused them onto a cloth backing. She used free-motion stitching, metallic thread, paint, and foil to add sparkle to the sky and sun. Shelley's personal goal is to make a quilt for each of her seven children and stepchildren by the time they graduate from high school.Designer:  Shelley Ann Hanson  shelleyann@hansoncrew.com
