Photographs of bright blue Colorado skies and freeform clouds, juxtaposed with the graphic black and white boards of an abandoned ranch, were the basis for Charlotte Ziebarth's take on human-scale architecture and the infinity of the sky. An art quilter for fifteen years, Charlotte works from her own photographs that are digitally printed on silk and cotton, then appliquéd and free-motion machine quilted. This quilt is part of a series exploring fantasy landscapes. Charlotte is currently working on a book about her artwork and development of digital fabric techniques, which she exhibits in her quilts at Boulder's Open Studios.
