18' x 21', 2006This quilt by Wen Redmond has a soft dream-like quality with the extended human figure, floating fence posts, and abstracted trees and landscape. The artist copied a photograph taken on Deer Isle, Massachusetts, and divided it into nine separate images. She then printed the images twiceon transparent silk organza, and then on a piece of sewing stabilizer. She sewed the images together and added borders of hand-dyed, hand-painted, and silk-screened fabrics. The quilt is mounted on a stretcher bar frame. Designer Contact:Wen RedmondStrafford, NH

This quilt by Wen Redmond has a soft dream-like quality with the extended human figure, floating fence posts, and abstracted trees and landscape. The artist copied a photograph taken on Deer Isle, Massachusetts, and divided it into nine separate images. She then printed the images twice—on transparent silk organza, and then on a piece of sewing stabilizer. She sewed the images together and added borders of hand-dyed, hand-painted, and silk-screened fabrics. The quilt is mounted on a stretcher bar frame.
