26' x 36', 2004Entranced by the architecture, beautiful tiles, and wrought iron work at Sedonaís arts and crafts center, Tlaquepaque (which means ìthe best of everythingî), Marcia Eygabroat recreated this courtyard cafÈ in fabric. Images from her travels around the world, stored in her camera and laptop, have been the starting point for each of her recent architectural quilts. With an exquisite eye for detail, Marcia utilized ready-made cotton and lamÈ fabrics to machine piece this three-dimensional image. She machine quilted her work and embellished it with yarn.
