A small English town in Elizabeth Bartonís native Yorkshire county inspired her vivid abstract composition of rooftops and chimneys. Using her own hand-dyed and painted fabrics, she constructed the shibori sky and bright jewel-toned buildings, employing a mixture of piecing and raw-edge appliquÈ. Elizabethís quilts will be exhibited this year at Visions Art Quilt Gallery in San Diego and at Blue Spiral 1 in Asheville, North Carolina.
