San Francisco textile artist Marcia Stein loves to interpret photographic images in her pictorial quilts. She snapped a photo of this vintage truck on her way home from a trip to Santa Fe. The vehicle captivated her with its retro look and the amount of effort that went into restoring it. It is one of a series of quilts from from photographs taken in the Southwest and in Europe. Marcia used machine and fused appliqué with commercial cotton, lamé, tulle, and textile paint to make the truck come alive.
