Jerry Mettlen is a motorcycle enthusiast, artist, and retired mechanic. He has only been quilting for three years, but you would never guess it when looking at this meticulously designed and machine-pieced beauty. He builds his quilts from a mock-up the exact size of the finished quilt. This is a freehand design and added details with machine embroidery. When he's not sewing, Jerry likes to ride his Indian motorcycle with a sidecar through his San Joaquin Valley neighborhood.
