50' x 52', 2004.Robin Gausebeck calls herself an accidental quilter. She knew basic sewing techniques, and six years ago began paper piecing. She designed this quilt as an homage to Grant Wood's landscapes and all that is fresh and wholesome about the Iowa countryside. Robin and her husband have enjoyed the undulating farm views from their bicycles many times on the statewide RAGBRAI tour of Iowa. Robin used EQ software to design her machine-pieced quilt, adding tucks and decorative stitching to enhance the furrows of gold fabric flecked with tiny corn kernels.
