Talent and creativity abound in the Art of Quilting feature in Love of Quilting.

Although quilting is her genes, it took Donna Lou Pharo twenty-five years to have her "defining moment" and give herself time to relax and quilt. Five years ago, she and her husband relocated from Hawaii to Colorado. This quilt represents the ripples of change that resulted from that move. Donna machine quilted cotton batiks and lamé with metallic thread to stitch this buoyant scene. She has learned many wonderful techniques from reading this magazine and watching Marianne and Liz on "Fons & Porter's Love of Quilting" on public television. In her spare time, Donna can be found riding on the bakc of her husband's Valkyrie motorcycle.
