88' x 75', 2006Ohio quilter Rita Steffenson won the Pfaff Master Award for Machine Artistry with this joyful quilt at the 2006 International Quilt Association show in Houston. She lived in the Mohave desert for six years, and was rewarded with this spring display after five years of monochromatic brown landscape. Rita was on a nature hike with her camera when she caught an iguana amidst the vivid flowers just before he disappeared in the underbrush. The quilt was constructed with hand-dyed and painted cotton, then machine pieced, machine appliqud, and machine quilted.Designer:  Rita Steffenson * rms-fiberart@att.net
