8' x 11', 2007Because of her last name, Candace Door couldn’t resist Quilting Arts magazine’s challenge called “Doorway to Imagination.” Although she had never worked in such a small format before, the Nebraska quilter felt that the theme presented endless possibilities for her in quilting. In this piece, Candace incorporated raw edge fused appliqué, free motion quilting, photo transfer fabric for tree bark, and embroidery with floss and waxed linen thread. Candace and her husband love to camp, backpack, and sea kayak. Their love of nature and photography provides inspiration for many of her quilts.Designer: Candace Door
