Just wanted to show our version of Nancy's Fancy quilt from your May/June 2007 issue. It was made with 5 shades of blue and 5 shades of gold plus the background that has gold thread on off white. It is a king size made with 1875 pieces that make up 30 blocks. I machine pieced the top and then the Baptist "Hen House" Women (they call themselves that because there is a lot of laughing and good times during Wednesday quilt day) hand quilted it. It was donated to the Missouri Baptist Children's Home to be auctioned at the Berry Festival held in Springfield, Missouri. This festival raises funds to help with the operation of the MO Baptist Children's Home in Mt. Vernon, MO. The quilt was awarded first place in the machine pieced, hand quilted category and was sold at auction for $675. This group has donated a quilt to this festival for the past 20 or so years and I don't think other than maybe 1 or 2 years, haven't won lst or 2nd place. Year before last they won Best of Show. Thank you for all the time you put into making a wonderful magazine.
See a close up!
