Her Answer: "My oldest unfinished quilt top is a scrappy fan quilt that was made during the 1950s by my great grandmother. Recognizing that she was beginning to loose her eyesight, my great grandmother set about making a quilt for an anticipated great granddaughter. Funny thing, my mother was only 11 years old, and having a child was the last thing on her mind. Unfortunately, my great grandmother was unable to complete the quilt as her eye sight grew worse. She set the fans in muslin with pink half triangles bordering the top. So, I am left with a quilt top that I have been unable to determine whether or not to finish. When I think about quilting the top, I'm unsure of where to begin. I have no idea how she planned to complete the quilt nor have I been able to locate appropriate fabric. Given the failing eye sight of my great grandmother, there are a number of missed stitches throughout the top which I must admit makes it very dear to me. "
