Just as I was getting ready to put together a quilt for my daughter I received the November/December 2012 issue of Love of Quilting.
My daughter had given me 12 "fish paintings" that her "young explorers" class at the Mission Aransas National Estuarine Research Reserve at University of Texas in Port Aransas, TX, had painted in August. She had them use permanent acrylic fabric paint on cotton fabric squares. When I saw the Puppy Pals pattern I knew this would be the perfect showcase for the preschool artists. I used an aqua/yellow batik sashing with a bright orange framing. The pattern goes together quickly and was easy to adjust for the size differences in the paintings. Finding Love of Quilting in my mailbox is always fun and this time it really helped motivate me to finish this project quickly. Thank you
