When my dad passed away in November 2008, I began my search for the perfect quilt pattern to create a memory of him and his “must have a pocket” shirts. In June 2009, I was in Shipshewana, Indiana with some friends for a presentation by Marianne Fons. On stage, she had displayed the perfect quilt pattern, (Venetian Dream Easy Quilts Fall 2009) and my search came to a halt. To personalize the quilt, I photo transferred a couple of pictures of dad wearing the shirts that are in the quilt. I made two quilts, one for myself and one for my sister, Candi, for her 60th birthday. My longtime friend Pat Butzin did the quilting. Love your magazine and TV show.
