I wanted to share my version of “Dots for Tiny Tots” from the Fons & Porter’s Easy Quilts Summer 2008 issue. I love Sharon Smith’s version of this baby quilt, but did not have a baby to share it with, so I made it into a full-size quilt (82”x90”) for myself! This was my first time making a full-size quilt! I added another row of the circle blocks, a wide red border on the edge, and green edging throughout. I love the whimsical nature of this quilt with the crazy offset circles and the polka dots against the stripes. I had a difficult time finding a striped fabric I liked, so I cut up a pillowcase and two of my blouses to get the striped fabric! I pieced the top, machine appliquéd the circles, and had the quilt professionally machine quilted by Suzanne Earley in Traer, Iowa. Thanks for the great magazines and fun ideas!
