Student Union/Gymnasium of Isothermal Community College at 286 ICC Loop Road (off Route 74 Alt) in Spindale, North Carolina (MAP)
Description: The Rutherford Quilt Guild's biennial quilt show\ will feature quilts made by guild members in a number of categories: bed quilts, large and small wall hangings, quilted wearables and miniature quilts. The quilters use both traditional and modern techniques, including hand-piecing and quilting, machine piecing and quilting, hand and machine appliqué. The guild members will also have a display of their quilted interpretations of two guild challenges: "Springtime in the Carolinas" and "3-Dimensions." The guild's Raffle Quilt "Springtime" will be displayed and tickets sold before the drawing at 4 pm on Saturday, April 19, 2014. The show will include over 12 vendors. The proceeds from the quilt show and raffle quilt are used to support our guild's community efforts as a 501c(3) charity. For 2013 the guild made and donated quilts to veterans under hospice care, Carolina House Memory Care Unit, the Rutherford Cancer Center, and to Home of the Brave, a charity that distributes quilts to the families of deceased soldiers.

Description: Lick Skillet Quilt Guild presents the Quilts by the Lake quilt show. Professionally judged quilts including a guild member's challenge interpreting 'bridges'. A display of vintage quilts, many of which are very old and were made by local quilters. The guild's opportunity quilt and themed baskets will be displayed and tickets sold for drawings to win, with proceeds from the tickets going to benefit charities and to support the guild's community service efforts. Description: The Ozark Piecemakers Quilt Guild's 2014 quilt show "Celebrate Quilting" will feature more than 400 quilts. Elsie M. Campbell will be the judge and give two lectures Thursday (10:00 and 2:00). Lori East will give two lectures Friday (10:00 and 2:00) and appraise quilts by appointment Saturday. Antique Bed Turnings are scheduled at 11:30 all three days and at 3:30 Thursday and Friday. A Wearable Art Fashion Show is set for 2:00 Saturday. Ongoing events at the show include a Silent Auction of quilts of all sizes and the guild's Bits & Pieces Boutique.
