Sharing the Joy of Quilting 2016

Description: West Suburban Quilters Guild presents 300 or more quilted items from full size bed quilts to small wall hangings, quilted clothing and accessories. “Sharing the Joy of Quilting” is the theme of the event, which includes vendors of quilting-related items, a gift boutique with a large variety of handmade items, quilting and craft demonstrations, quilt appraisals and a bed turning. There will be a raffle of a quilt made by Guild members as well as a Bernina sewing machine. The facilities are wheelchair accessible, and parking is free. Miami Valley Quilters Guild Quilt Show 2016

Description: The Miami Valley Quilters’ Guild’s show of work from its more than 200 members features quilts and fabric arts representing the entire range of quilting from traditional work done entirely by hand through traditional patterns pieced and quilted by machine and on to the latest in contemporary and art quilts. Vendors, local, regional and national, will have fabric, equipment, books, patterns and supplies for today’s quilter and antique quilt dealers will also be available. Guild members offer their own work for sale in a boutique which benefits the guild’s charitable activities and a beautiful machine pieced and quilted king size quilt with hand applique made by members will be available as a raffle prize. Description: The 36th Annual SMQ Quilt Show and Competition will include over 30 vendors and nearly 200 quilts on display. We will have a small quilt sale benefiting the guild’s charitable work with Ronald McDonald House. Also, 2009 Quilters Hall of Fame inductee Merikay Waldvogel will present an antique quilt bed turning, talking about the history of each quilt and answering questions.
The show will be held in the Knoxville Expo Center, which has recently been renovated and has free parking and is accessible for the disabled. It is located near the intersection of I-75 and I-640, and there are a variety of restaurants nearby within walking distance.
