I did it! submitted by Helen K., Grant, MI
This is a picture of the quilt I made for my friends who live in a beautiful log cabin. I had been quilting for about three years so was still a novice. If I would make a quilt for her and then picked out your quilt (from Basic Guide to Rotary Cut Quilts) with all the different rows. Startled and very nervous, I said I would try. We worked together and she helped pick out all the different fabrics. I used your patterns, substituting the boats for pine trees, and rearranged the order somewhat. The finished result was a beautiful quilt which she is very, very happy with and I am very proud—I did it!
Tea Time submitted by Nan B. of Vancouver, Canada
Tea Time in your May/June 2006 issue of Love of Quilting was just the quilt I wanted to make. I did the appliqué on Tuesdays at my Kerrisdale Quilters group. When the strips of purple were sewn together they were too big for the blocks. My friends said that I would have to redo all the seams of the already cut strips of squares. NOT !! So I added a strip to the top and side of each block and magically it all fit together. Then I used a fancy stitch from my sewing machine to cover the seams of the strips, added a sleeve and hung it in my hallway. I love this pattern. Thanks to Rachel Shelburne for her design and thanks to Love of Quilting for putting it the 25th edition of the magazine.
p.s. Love of Quilting is my favorite magazine and the only one I buy. It is full of newsy bits and helpful hints as well as great patterns.
