  7. What I love about fall is that it comes with cooler weather when I hit the point of being tired of the heat. I also love to see the tree leaves turn color.

  8. Autumn is a de-stressing time for me. The colors are so beautiful and the hub-bub of life is quieter. I have always been drawn to fabrics in fall colors, I guess it is a natural thing for me, I find them comforting.

  9. Finally a nice cool breeze after weeks of scorching hot sun. I dread the coming winter, but I love autumn and the chance to get back into my favorite sweaters. Just too wonderful.

  10. I love the cooler weather of fall after a long hot summer. The color of the leaves can be very inspiring when a quilter looks at them. I love the colors of the fabrics you have chosen to give away. BTW, I so much enjoy your magazine. Good luck to all those who enter the contest.

  11. My favorite thing about autumn is the change of weather and the lovely fall fabrics available. I live in Florida and Fall brings us some cooler weather after the hot summers.

  12. Love the colors of fall. How mother nature has the most beautiful paint brush. and the to be able to transfer those colors into a quilt to wrap in just beautiful

  13. What I like about Fall the most is the wonderful color of the leaves that makes you want to make a beautiful Fall Quilt featured in any of the Fons & Porter magazines! I was there was a subscription for the Quilting Quickly magazine! I have the Fon’s & Porter Love of Quilting and Easy Quilting! I would also love to win the fat quarter bundles!

  14. Autumn is my favourite time of year – not too wet, not too dry, not too hot, not too cold. The beautiful shades of green, brown, yellow and red flood the countryside and makes it look like a million dollar painting.

  15. The weather is my favorite of the year followed closely by all the amazing colors and flavors of the produce! All the veggies and fruit are brilliant and sooo tasty!!

  16. I love the colors of autumn, and the beginning of a period of rest. The garden is harvested, the grass is not growing so quickly and its time to get ready to stay indoors and quilt.

  17. Autumn is one of my favorite seasons because of the vibrant colors. I live in the Pacific Northwest and we often take road trips along the Cascade Highway so we can capture the beauty of the colors and the changing of seasons.

  18. I love the crisp feel in the air and the colors….Oh the colors are my favorite and use them in so many of my quilting projects. And then there are pumpkins! I have decorative ones in my sewing room all year round. Just love the fall!

  19. Autumn means beautiful falling leaves in our Pioneer Park with it’s huge old trees. It also means it is almost time to head south to Arizona:)

  20. I take down my summer quilts and hang my many fall quilts on walls and over furniture. I love fall quilts and have many to decorate with. I love the colors of fall and on fall quilts.

  21. Autumn … Nature’s way of exploding rich colors which provides a perfect pallet to re-create onto fabric. Paintbrush Studio’s has captured this season … Autumn … perfectly!

  22. The best thing about fall is that there is more time to spend with family and friends outside enjoying the color changes and the cooler weather. Having some quilts to keep us warm by the fire pit helps too!!

  23. I live in the South and the summers are really hot…which I love. But when fall comes and the nights get cooler so I can sit on the porch before bed and sleep with the windows open…heaven!

  24. Autumn brings not only beautiful colors and crisp days and nights but it also brings the need to quilt those cozy curl up quilts! There’s nothing like curling up with a cozy, beautiful quilt and a fantastic quilt magazine!

  25. I cannot pinpoint just one thing that I love about Fall. The colors, the shorter days, the crisp cooler air. Halloween and Thanksgiving! Harvest time! Sunflowers, Scarecrows,Pumpkins, Indian Corn. Everything about is my favorite thing!!

  26. The cool weather is my favorite part of Autumn. Just the thought of sewing a guilt and wrapping myself in it makes me smile. Its like a warm hug…so comforting!

  27. I look forward to autumn every year because it’s cozy. The end of the sweating Texas heat with comfy temps to snuggle under loved quilts. It’s family time for me with anniversary, thanksgiving dinner (that I cook for both sides of our fam). My favorite time of year!! Autumn=Happiness 🙂

  28. I also enjoy the cooler temps. I live in Idaho so we do not get to see much in the color changes in the trees as the forests are all pine type trees. I used to live in Ohio and one of the things I missed the most was the color changes in the fall. Fall reminds me of family and home

  29. The colors and cooler temps and the thought of being cozy in the house with family close by. Seeing the sun shine through the colors in the trees. Wondering what projects I need to get done before Christmas.

  30. I love the changing colors of Fall, crisp cool nights, delicious apples, pumpkins still growing on the vine, Thanksgiving and Family! I love Springtime, but Autumn season has always been my favorite!

  31. I would have to say the colors of the mountains. I live in east Tennessee, and the colors of the trees, mountains, flowers, gardens, pumpkins, gourds, all have God’s touch!

  32. I love the cool air and the smell of the impending, cleansing winter. I enjoy the visual stimulation of the leaves turning colors. It’s like they are showing off their brilliance one last time before the trees sleep. It is the twilight of the seasons.

  33. Living around the Houston area of Texas you have to turn to something with color as in the fabrics because we do not have the changing of the colors in our landscape as those in other parts of the States..Love the colors of Autumn season…

  34. I love the clean, crisp feel in the air. It inspires me to make a quilt using all the beautiful colors of fall, orange, yellow, red, gold, purple and browns!

  35. The last show of beautiful colors befoe the cold, drabness of winter, plus the cooler weather. Awesome when we actually get to enjoy a real Autumn in the midwest!

  36. What I like about Autumn is cool and scent filled, unlike Spring where the world is waking up from its dormancy of Winter. Autumn produces a desire to snuggle and prepare to burrow. It allows us to work with heavier fabric and projects with more comfort as it is spread over our laps. Autumn has a certain scent unlike any other time you are not in a rush to get any planting done for the harvest has come in. Autumn is the time to prep your sewing room, your kitchen and your home for that rush of Family gatherings that are coming. Autumn is the time where we begin to think of all our blessings and we are content to stay at home rather than go to the lake, beach, or shopping mall. That is what I love about Autumn,

  37. Autumn is, literally, bittersweet. The colors are a last blaze defiance to the knowledge of the muted cold palate to come. Autumn is nature’s way of not going “gentle into that good night” and one of the lessons we can learn from her, if we just listen.

  38. I love the cool air, the fall colors, and apple picking with my grandchildren. I most of all love Thanksgiving, it is my favorite holiday. It is the four F holiday(family, food, fun, football). And of course I love the sewing time.

  39. Autumn brings with it so many vibrant colours I love to sit at my desk nestled in our bay window and watch the ‘changing of the guard’ as nature gives way from the shades of green to the red, yellow and burnt umber colours of Autumn. I take this time to complete my quilting projects and begin the knitting of socks, scarves and jumpers to be ready for the first snowfall of winter. I love Autumn because for me it is a time of transition with a spectacular colour palette thrown in for all to watch =)

  40. I love the beautiful trees when they are turning. I love pumpkins, craft shows, Thanksgiving, getting together with friends, apple cider by the fireplace. I love just about everything about autumn- it’s my favorite season.

  41. Autumn is one of my 2 favorite seasons – it brings the end of a long hot humid summer with perfect weather: cool and breezy. Fall’s colors soothe and comfort after a summer of bright bold hues that keep my life stirred up. It renews my spirit like spring does after a cold drab winter. God knew what he was doing with the changing of our seasons!

  42. My very first quilt was made in beautiful fall colors as a request from my daughter who had moved to Phoenix and wanted a reminder of Iowa autumns. Now I live in Phoenix too and love the fall colors for the same reason.

  43. I love the warm and rich colors of fall as well it has a special scent of crisp air yet warm sun. Such a relaxing time before the long and cold winter of northern New Bruswick, Canada.

  44. Autumn….cooler temps, falling leaves, open windows to hear the birds and feel fresh breezes, soup on to simmer and more time to quilt!!! My favorite season of the year!

  45. Pumpkin pie. That’s my favourite thing about autumn, is making pumpkin pie from fresh pumpkins. My son ADORES pumpkin pie, and goes into paroxysms of bliss when I make it. He nags me to let him lick the bowl or the mixing paddle (powered mixer), or if he can have the first slice, “Mommy, is it ready yet? Is it ready, yet? Can I have a piece, yet? When’s dinner, so we can have dessert sooner…? Mooooooommmmm….”
Dang it, now I need to make some pumpkin bread, just to tide me over! Good thing I have canned puree in the pantry!

  46. Cooler weather, Halloween, color of leaves changing, pumpkin pie and Thanksgiving dinner with family. and and and… well you get the picture. Thanks so much.

  47. Cooler days and nights after the hot, humid southern summer. The autumn colors of the changing trees are beautiful and the scent of the air is even different.

  48. I like the changing colors of the trees and living in AZ. it means cooler weather, and I can turn the AC off and open the front door. Plus there is more time for quilting. Thank you for the chance to win.

  49. I love the colors of Autumn Watching the trees change and also knowing I will share another Birthday with one of my grand daughters making my mom’s pumpkin spice cake for my birthday. I love making quilts & wall hangings with the deep rich colors of autumn .

  50. There is a small woods behind our house and once the leaves start changing colors, I love to look out at it each morning to see how much has changed since the day before.

  51. Autumn has the most beautiful and relaxing colors of the year. The cooler nights of fresh air for sleeping after running the AC for the hot summer nights! Kids are back in school so Mom has more time to quilt!!! 🙂

  52. I love the colors of fall, the feel of crispness in the air, the whisper of the fall breezes through the trees, the hint of cool moisture in the air, the crunch of leaves under your feet as you walk through the woods, pumpkins.

  53. Autumn is the most beautiful season with all its changing colors, cooler temperatures and special times just created for wrapping oneself in a lovely quilt.

  54. Since I live in Tucson, Arizona; Autumn is the first reprieve from the blast of Summer furnace heat and I start to feel more human. That means it’s time to step up my quilting with all the lush, warm colors of Fall remembered from back East. Our colors in the West stay the same all the time=BEAUTIFUL & INVITING!

  55. So many things I love about Fall/Autumn…where do I start. The beautiful colors in the foliage (and fabric), Pumpkins (Pumpkin Pie or Bread), fall festivals, family reunion in Missouri, Thanksgiving with family and my birthday in September. Not to mention raking the leaves and shuffling through them after they are in the pile. I am an adult but refuse to grow up on some stuff 🙂
    Thank-you for great giveaways!

  56. My beautiful daughter was born in early fall, almost 39 years ago. I also have a granddaughter born in early fall, nearly 9 years ago now. Of course, that is what I love best!

  57. Cooler weather and getting ready for all the holiday’s that come towards the end of the year where family gets together and is thankful for what we have been blessed with throughout the past year.

  58. Growing up on the family farm in South Dakota fall was always a busy and bustling time of year after a lazy, hot summer with the harvesting taking place. The colors seen in the changing foliage to the fragrances of mother earth as I would stroll along the cow path with my mom in the quiet Sunday evenings have stayed with me for the last 40+ years … fabric can and does take me back to those days and makes me proud to have been a farmer’s daughter!

  59. Living in the southwestern US we don’t have a great fall what I always called a great fall back home in the midwest. However, the first morning I step out of the house and the cooler air bites at my face always brings a smile.

  60. I live in Alaska where Fall comes quickly with wonderful colors that mark the Chugach Mountain Range. Leaves, crisp fall weather and the promise of a fire and hot chocolate to enjoy the outdoors before winter takes hold.

  61. What I like about Autumn is that it will start getting cooler around here. Texas is extremely hot right now. Of course summer goes through October here.lol Love the colors of the fabrics and so excited to get the fall edition of Quilting Quickly. I ordered it from you and can hardly wait for it to arrive. Thanks for the giveaway.

  62. The things I like best about fall are the colors, smells and that the apples on the family farm are ready to be picked and eaten. What a special time of the year.

  63. I look forward to fall because my life slows down from all the summer activities and allows me much more time to get into my quilting room to sew. It also means making my favorite comfort foods for my family and friends.

  64. I love the cool (but not cold) autumn breezes in my face, my hair, my lungs! The clean smell of the air, fabulous. Fall colors make me happy too.

  65. Fall and Spring are my most favorite seasons. Spring has the beautiful color of all flowers and of course Fall has the beautiful colors the spring flowers turn into after their time to be seen is gone. We know it is going to turn cooler so that quilt in our lap will be a pleasure to hand quilt and our legs will be more comfortable then when the heat of summer was making it to hot to enjoy our time quilting by hand.

  66. What do I love about fall? It welcomes the cooler temperatures and the end of hurricane season, the changing of the leaves, the smell of something good baking in the oven, back to school and the beginning of preparations to hibernate for winter – and stocking up in material for my winter quilting projects!

  67. I live in Florida and I lived in Indiana. The southern part called Brown County has the most beautiful Autum colors, from the leaves and trees and the animals that come out in the fall and winter.I love the cool breeze and changing of leaves and the Covered Bridge Festivals.Miss them.

  68. Autum is my favorite time of the year, changing colors are invigerating, air is cool and calm. It’s a relaxing time before we button down the hatches and snuggle under the warm quilts made with lots love.

  69. Fall colors remind me of bread baking in the oven, sitting by a warm fire drinking something warm. Cuddling under a blanket and laughing with gkids…

  70. Living in the South, I love the relief of cooler weather that the Fall Season brings. Everyone seems to retreat indoors and in some form or fashion you see people getting into more of a craft mode either to prepare for the holidays or to improve their homes inside. It is also my apple canning season. Yum!

  71. I have always wanted to go to New England in the Fall to see the Changing of the Leaves. Now I’m 82, and I probably won’t make it to New England, but I would be happy with a quilt in these fabrics to imagine the journey.

  72. The colors of the oak trees in the fall and the smell of the moisture in the air in the morning is glorious. The crisp feel of the air and the skim of ice on the horse waterer is a sign that things will not be so hot for a while. Love the autumn.

  73. I always looked forward to school starting because it meant a NEW box of 96 crayons! And then there were the boxes that had the sharpener! Most importantly the silver and gold crayons so i could capture the highlights and the beautiful and diverse colors of fall. I can still remember a portfolio I did with fall leaves on the cover. Favorite: the colors and sounds of fall.

  74. I love Fall. The air is waft with the first fires of the season. Children are getting new packs of crayons for school, and the Western Washington Fair is underway. Let’s not forget the changing colors of the trees…even here in Western Washington. The colored leaves accent our beautiful fir trees! Would be great to win!

  75. I love the cooler weather because it just “feels” like quilt weather … and the brown grass starts to green up and look healthy again. Fall and winter are the BEST times to quilt!

  76. I love the rich beautiful colors of fall. I also love the cool crisp air……a nice change from the hot humid summers here in the south. Thank you!

  77. Fall is the precursor to all of my favorite holidays! Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and my favorite weather! The cooler weather inspires me to get my quilts finished.

  78. Autumn weather is cooler, but without the chill of winter yet. I love sitting outside in the mornings, wrapped up in a quilt, and having coffee on the porch.

  79. As a child, my favorite thing about autumn was going back to school. I loved getting new pencils, paper, and textbooks! Today, I still like autumn for this reason, even though I’m long out of school – I can hear the high school band practicing from my home, and look forward to the football games. Throw in a bonfire and s’mores, it doesn’t get any better.

  80. I love the colors of fall, the warm days and cool nights, the way nature is changing to get ready for the winter…..thank you for the chance to win some beautiful fabric!!

  81. Not only do I love the fall colours, I love the smell of the air in the fall. Harvest is nearly done and the quieter days of winter are ahead. Sometimes it just feels good to wear wool again!

  82. My favorite thing about fall is the complete seasonal cahnge:cooler air, just right for snugling under a quilt in front of the fireplace while sipping hot cider.

  83. I love the fall colors and smells. There is nothing more relaxing than to take a walk in the woods during fall color season. It allows you to relax and reflect about how wondrous the change of the season actually is.

  84. I love autumn when the air is cooler, less humid and so enjoyable to do whatever your heart desires. The colors are so lovely as the trees display the beauty of their changing leaves.

  85. I think the colors of fall are my favorite thing about that season. I don’t like the cold, so I always hate to see it come because I know winter is close.

  86. Autumn is my favorite time of the year, I love the weather, I love the colors, I am calmer and at the same time I have more energy. When it’s too hot, I daydream about autumn and when its to cold I daydream about autumn. My house is all done in autumn colors because that is my comfort.

  87. Cool, crisp air, apples ripening on the trees, pumpkins on the vines. Beautiful fall colors of flame red, bright orange and calm yellow inspire me to pull those fabrics from my stash and plan a quilt or wallhanging. A Fall Shop Hop is the perfect way to see the countryside and visit all the shops to see their fall fabriss and get ideas for new projects.

  88. Here in Phoenix there is not much (any?) change of color in the fall, but I do remember the exquisite colors from my childhood in New York. Oh! how I miss it!! But what I look forward to here is knowing that eventually the temperature will cool down a bit and I can start walking and hiking again in the beautiful desert mountains. Even the desert can be inspiring with it’s textures and colors… especially the awesome sunrises and sunsets, and the shadows cast on that rare rain-cloudy day.

  89. My kids play volleyball, so we spend the fall traveling to tournaments for the school season. I love watching them enjoy themselves. And traveling is beautiful at that time of year.

  90. The deep rich colors of autumn are my favorite, and the change in the season to the wonderful temps with less humidity and the coolness of the evenings. Just love everything about autumn!

  91. M favorite thing about autumn is that I retired from teaching at the end of this past school year and when school starts again I will be quilting instead of writing lesson plans, attending staff meetings, Open House, Parent conferences and professional development!!

  92. I love Autumn not only for the colors that appear but it reminds me of harvest time, the upcoming holidays but mostly the antique colors that were used in quilts decades ago. I love those colors our ancestors used to make quilts which were mostly autumn colors. I cherish the quilts I have that were made by my grandmother and greatgrandmother using mostly autumn colors and would love to win the fabrics to make a quilt similiar to those they made. I love quilting!!!!!!!!!!!!

  93. Fall is my favorite time of year to go camping. Cool temperatures, warm fires and cozy quilts. Walking in fallen crunchy leaves was always fun as a child and even more fun now!!

  94. I absolutely love autumn! Everything from fresh apple cider to pumpkin pie, from crisp leaves crunching under foot to the sound of dried corn stalks in a maze as you wander through. I love Autumn best!

  95. I had the good fortune to visit New Hampshire, Vermont, and upstate New York last fall, and those glorious colors are most definitely at the top of the list!

  96. I live in Nova Scotia, Canada. My backyard is full of different trees which show off their spetacular colors in the Fall. The red’s are my favourite. It would be a very enjoyable task to get a quilt as lovely as that.

  97. In the fall the weather starts getting cooler and the days are still light enough to get many things done. It is the start of a new gardening project and another quilt or two. What could be better!!!

  98. Hi! I love the cooler air and the changing leaves, with all the colors! It’s perfect for a sweater or to cuddle up with a quilt and to read a book or to go for a walk! It’s also perfect for staying inside and making quilts, too! You start to get the feeling for the holidays to come! It kind of exciting! I love it! It’s my favorite time of year! It’s also a good time for camping, not too hot, not too cold, just right and you can sit outside and do handwork comfortably. Thank you for the chance to win!

  99. I love the fall not only for the fall colors but for the cool crisp mornings where you can go out and watch nature. I really enjoy watching the squirrels running through the branches gathering their food for the winter and the chatter between them and my Chihuahuas. Talking all this in thinking about all the quilts I have made through the year and how happy family will be when they get them Christmas morning.

  100. The colors are just to die for. The reds oranges yellows just make my heart sing. Here in Colorado there is always quilting inspiration in autumn

  101. I love autumn in Canada, with its warm colors, I love the sound of leaves crunching under your feet. I love going to the park and see the falling leaves and the light wind that sways and the noise of the children who go to school. All this is warm, even when the season now brings the first frosts. I live in Italy but all this is in my heart. Autumn is my favorite season. Silvana

  102. I love stepping outside and the air feels different and even smells different. And the changing colors are incredible. God is so artistic!! (Probably a quilter.)

  103. Like everyone else, I like the fall colors and the cooler days. But I look forward to the coming of winter and hopefully snow. I love snow and quite winter walks. Fresh apples to harvest, apple butter to make.

  104. Autumn my favorite time of the year. Picking apples for apple pies, drives to the country to see the changing colors of the trees. All the yellows , oranges, and red leaves, plus a stop at our favorite cider mill for hot cider and fresh donuts. It is the most relaxing time of the year.

  105. Fall is full of warm and inviting foods such as the smell of hot pumpkin pie, the rich color and taste of cranberries next to a slice of golden brown turkey. Rich colors and great food, yummy!

  106. I love the colors of fall – driving in the country with all the fields different colors reminds me of quilts. And after fall, comes winter. That’s quilt time. Time to piece, time to quilt and time to use the quilts that are already done.

  107. My favorite thing about Autumn is the color! We plan a driving mini vacation during peak color week just to revel in the beauty of nature’s colors. It’s food for the soul to help get through the long bleak winter.

  108. Autumn is my favorite season here in AZ. The sunsets are fabulous and I go to the high country to enjoy the sight and smells of the forest. It is so refreshing after the hot summer months to just enjoy what Mother Nature gives us.

  109. One of my favorite things is the crisp air, but mainly the wonderful colors of autumn. It makes my mind whirl with quilt patterns that just have to be made with these beautiful colors. When quilting in the winter months, the colors are so rich and wonderful that they take away the bitter cold of winter and make me think ahead to spring.

  110. love this time of the year with all the colors and when u take all the things you dried and collected that are ready to make so many different crafts thanks for the chance

  111. Autumn is the start of pile on the quilts season. I love the colors and the cool air. It is my favorite time to go camping – not too hot or too crowded. This year we are headed off to the North Rim to enjoy fall in the canyon. Should make a beautiful quilt and memories.

  112. Autumn is the most breathtaking time of year, the leaves start to change these beautiful array of browns, reds, yellows. but the best part is the smell, it is so clean and so aromatic that you can actually smell the colors of autumn. Its absolutely priceless!

  113. Autumn makes me think of football, cool crisp mornings and the crunch of leaves underfoot. I love the colors, the smells and the free time for quilting I gain by not having to tend the garden.

  114. Although I miss the heat of summer, I love the COLORS of autumn!! I look forward to baking and sewing with the cooler temperatures arriving!

  115. Fall is my favorite season. I love the change to crisp clean air after a hot and humid summer, and this summer has been incredibly humid. Love to see the leaves changing colors. Watch the kids go back to school, reluctantly. Football and fresh apples. Fall gives us a change to enjoy New England before we have to hunker down for a long winter!

  116. I love autumn because the weather is much cooler and the colors of the foliage is like a grand finale before the barrenness of the winter months! Nothing pleases me more than to take a walk with the crispness of the air and the deep blue of the skies, and yet I love the drama of the storm clouds playing in the sky.

  117. I love the autumn colors when the leaves are changing. The cooler weather puts me in a sewing/quilting mood more than anything. I do not like to rack the leaves the sound of them crunching as you walk on them tells me that a change is in the air.

  118. I love fall for many reasons: crisp cool air, the colors of the earth and sky as summer ends, fall holidays with goblins and family gatherins and especially the fact that I can turn off the A/C and save a bunch of money until it gets really cold and I have to turn on the heat! 😉

  119. Autumn is the vibrant colors that being a new quilter has open my eyes to and raking all the leaves in a pile only to jump in them like I did when I was a child many moons ago.

  120. My grandkids all know that my favorite color is “Autumn”. Ah, the oranges, dark greens, plums, reds, and golds – love them all! I would love to make a quilt with these beautiful fabrics. Hmm, what pattern?? So many ideas!

  121. My favorite things about Autumn are: the smell of the fall air, the harvesting all the rewards of summer and the beautiful fall colors. I look forward to my once a year trip to visit friends in Winterset, Iowa for the Covered Bridge Festival and going to Fons and Porter. I live in upstate New York. We drive to Iowa and take in all the beautiful fall scenery. We have been coming to Winterset, Iowa since 1967.

  122. Autumn is crisp and cool. A time to finish our canning and freezing down our produce for the winter ahead! Maples and oaks are at their best!

  123. I love all the beautiful colors of fall. And the temperature starting to cool down enough to snuggle with a loved one under a cozy quilt!

  124. Fall is my favorite season. The colors are outstanding just like the colorful fabrics in the bundle. I can remember fall always all year long….

  125. Fall colors are some of my favorite colors and they make me feel alive and wanting to go for walks among the colorful leaves!! Recreating those colors in a quilt gives me the feeling that I’m bringing glorious nature indoors.
    Thanks for your offer!

  126. My favorite thing about autumn would be the green leaves of summer giving way to the beautiful array of golds, reds, browns, and some purples. The air is not so humid, but crisp. It’s time for football.

  127. I love the sight and sounds of autumn, …orange colored leaves(my favorite color)although my children are all grown… school bells ringing….I live near a school….yellow leaves and buses..clear fresh cool air and harvesting from the garden!!
Fall is always the best season

  128. My favorite thing about autumn is thunderstorms and after watching the lighning show, being able to curl up under a quilt or two and get really warm. My mom was afraid of storms so she used to get us up to watch what she called the light show on the blinds and then she went and hid. Result, I love thunderstorms!

  129. My favorite thing about Autumn is the beautiful colors of the leaves and the smell of the fresh cool country air and the leaves. God is the perfect artist.

  130. I love the colours of autumn, and a fall colours quilt is on my list. I enjoy the smells of autumn too and the crunch of leaves underfoot. Walking through the woods at this time is especially aromatic – the air has a nutty fragrance. Those chilly mornings with crisp fresh air and a touch of frost are great for a brisk walk.

the vivid autumn colors that emerge unexpectedly from what seems like monotone-green plants and trees, the texture of crunching leaves that invites me to roll around in them just like when I was a kid, the smell of the earth and burning leaves that conjures up soul-filled renewal , and the taste of glorious fall produce (I’m a sucker for apples of all varieties)!

I love the smell and feel of a nice fire! I only wish that I had a fireplace so I could enjoy it more often! There are so many things that I love about autumn but I think the biggest thing is God’s handiwork! He is such an artist and he knows how to put some of the most beautiful things together! He is AWESOME!

  191. Fall leaves and trees are what I enjoy most about fall. Driving to work becomes a joy watching the trees turn their reddish, orange glory–seeing leaves blow against my windshield. Raking all the types of colorful fall leaves, hearing the sounds as I rake and walk through the leaves and the spicy smell of leaves being bagged. And nothing is more fun then the laughter of little ones throwing all the colored leaves up, up to blue sky.

the sky born V of the geese migrating south

Autumn is my favorite time of year. I love the beautiful colors of the trees and the crisp air is invigorating and I just love sweatshirt weather. Love your show, magazines and blog.

  239. Autumn brings so many wonderful surprises but for me the best part is taking walks at dusk and dawn. The rich smell of the fall reminds me of being a kid raking up leaves. My parents would have one last outdoor family gathering in Autumn with a huge brush burning from the years clean up of the property. It was good times, roasting hot dogs and making s’mores while listening to the adults tell stories from their past and the occasional ghost story.

  240. I love the transition of the fall season. The countrysides explode into vibrant colors painting the landscape in celebration of the transformation of the seasons before a long winters rest. The temperatures start to cool and a sense of serenity falls over you as you curl up under a quilt enjoying the rich hues of nature that warm and envelope your soul.

  241. Love the warm oranges, Yellows, Reds and Browns of the season.. but the best part of Fall is Halloween! Can decorate to my heart’s content and combine the oranges, blacks, and purples to make awesome quilts.

  242. My favorite things about fall are the changing of the hot summer to to cool of winter. The fall has as many colors and burst of changes as the spring . My parents told me on my October birthday that it is good luck for a person to catch a falling leaf on their birthday. Assuming that was a universal good luck sign, I chased leaves for what seemed like a long time, without catching any! Turns out Mom and Dad were ready for me to play outside for awhile!

  248. I would have to say that the thing I like most about the fall is that the cooler air motivates me to head back to my sewing machine. The autumn colors, the fresh smell in the air, the visits to the apple and pumpkin farms, and Halloween and Thanksgiving all inspire me to get stitching! I would love to have these fat quarters when fall arrives. Thanks for the chance to win them!

  251. The thing I love about autumn is that I live in New England, and I can just look out my window at all the fantastic colors, or go outside and enjoy the fall air and the contrast between the reds, golds, and yellows against the crystal blue sky. 253. I think “Alignment” would be a great pattern to highlight some of the larger scale print fabrics I have in my stash. Always looking for a way to feature those.

  254. The colors of autumn are the most beautiful. On our farm this is when the geese fly over, the deer gather in our yard where they know they are safe and we harvest the garden and the crop.
