Quilt With Diane Tomlinson At The Original Sewing And Quilt Expo

logoblock_osqeThe Original Sewing and Quilt Expo (OSQE) is getting ready for its 2017 edition, and Fons & Porter associate editor Diane Tomlinson will be on site for the first two shows, all set to quilt with you! Many of you know Diane’s fabulous quilt designs and techniques from our magazines – Country Garden, Crossing Paths, and Moonlight Bay are some of her most recent magazine quilts – but those of you who have attended OSQE in the past may also recall her lectures, classes, and demos. Diane’s encyclopedic knowledge of quilt making, along with her welcoming personality, make her a primo quilting teacher and a favorite with OSQE students.

Tools We Can’t Quilt Without – Lecture (Friday, March 10, 2:30-3:30 PM and Saturday, March 11, 10:30-11:30 AM)
Inside the Fons & Porter office exists a quilt maker’s paradise – new tools, tried-and-true tools, notions, templates, rulers and more … and everyone has a chance to use them. Learn about Diane’s (and other staff members’) favorites – the ‘must haves’ for creative quilt making – in this trunk show how-to class. See how just one template set or ruler spawns a variety of quilts; how the simplest notions make otherwise time-consuming tasks fast and, more importantly, how to make them all work for you. Find lots of new ideas and inspiration as you absorb what the staff at Fons & Porter, with their years of experience and active practice making quilts, have put on the list. Diane generously shares it all in class, along with construction tips and lots of quilts!

Diane will also be hosting a stage show/trunk show of scrap quilts from her own and the Fons & Porter collections. In addition, you can find her in the Fons & Porter booth, demonstrating fun techniques and just chilling with fellow quilters!

Lakeland, Florida – March 16, 17, and 18

The weekend following the Atlanta OSQE show, Diane will be doing it all again, this time at the Lakeland show. Get dates and times of her presentations and classes right here!

We hope you’ll start making plans to meet Diane in Atlanta or Lakeland. These are the first big quilt shows of the season, and what better way to shake off the winter blues and get focused for spring and summer quilting? Treat yourself, take a friend, and get inspired. Diane will see you there!

Happy quilting!
