Quilt Market in Houston is so many things, but the word that describes it best for some of us is stimulating! The creativity and talent here is limitless. We’ll show you just a few of the fun things we saw.
Linda Carlson of Baby Genius showed her ideas for new tools in her fabrics from Benartex. Using pressing tape for appliquéing, that washes away after you’ve appliquéd pieces in place.
Thomas Knauer introduced his new line with Andover, talking about how he designs his fabric lines using fabrics that go together, not stressing on colors that blend, but fabrics that please the eye together in both color and design. He’s be 1 of 3 special guest speakers at Quiltcon coming up in early spring.
If you are a history buff like some of us here, along with quilting, Barbara Brackman introduced The Civil War Sampler – 50 Quilt Blocks with Stories from History coming out from C&T. The blocks and possibilities are endless and have appear on her blog but you can get them and the history in her book.
Stay tuned, we have more for you with some photos of quilts from the AQS show.
