Living, Loving, Longarming.

I’m learning more about longarming because we’re going to be doing a series about it on Quilty. Here’s a picture from a longarm lesson I had…oh gee. It was about a year and a half ago, I think.

Dawn Cavanaugh from APQS in Des Moines, IA was the best teacher ever. I loved her, loved trying out the amazing machines at the shop, and definitely got a new appreciation for the art of longarm quilting. Have you seen these things? They’re like lasers with needles and huge metal bars and magic!

Longarmers everywhere, we — at least I — salute you.

  1. Mary,
I learned to long arm a few years ago and rent time on a machine at the fabric shop where I took the lesson. Just l0ve it, makes quilting a large quilt go fast and it’s still ‘hands on’ when your guiding it yourself and not using the computer to do it for you – thats for the pros. Good luck longarming, you’ll be hooked fast.
