Covered Bridge Quilt Show

Well it is official…I attended my first quilt show ever! A person has to start somewhere, right? I went to the Covered Bridge Quilt Show in Winterset during the Covered Bridge Festival and it was terrific.

The highlight of my quilt show experience was meeting Rod Beem. Rod is a Vietnam Veteran and a Purple Heart recipient. I talked with Rod and he told me about when he received his Quilt of Valor. I could hear the pride in his voice and saw the joy on his face as he talked about his quilt.

What a great memory.

I’m looking forward to my next quilt show and personally working with Quilts of Valor. Until next time…

Hi Mandy – You will LOVE working with Quilts of Valor. It’s an amazing organization and it is so much fun assembling the quilts. I’ve helped make 3 quilts so far, and can’t wait to make the next 3. Enjoy!

Glad you got to go and enjoyed it so much. I love quilt shows and also the usual vendors that go along with the shows. lol

I have just one request…..and that is…I wish folks who put things on the internet would always remember that not everyone knows every city in the USA. It would be great if everyone would attach at state name to the cities they visit.
