We were thrilled to have a Quilter’s Club of America (QCA) group come to visit the shop today. They are a group of quilters who organized a retreat amongst themselves via the QCA website.
Many of the quilters had been looking forward to this trip for years.

They will be staying in Des Moines over the weekend and chose their site based on the vicinity to Winterset and the Fons & Porter quilt shop.

When asked if they all brought their sewing machines, one member smiled and said, “Yes, we are all sewing.” Another member claimed, “We are even sewing in our pajamas!”

Many of the ladies who visited today traveled a long way to be a part of the retreat . The quilters were from Minnesota, Oklahoma, Missouri, Illinois, Iowa and even Canada!
