Today we had a state-fair-themed potluck at the office. The Iowa State Fair is famous for having foods on a stick, so many of us brought our own versions of “on-a-stick” foods such as butter, fruit, twinkies, peanut butter and jelly, smores, trifle, and the ever popular corndog. We also had some tasty jambalaya, homemade beans, pork, and fresh squeezed lemonade.
Many of us from the office have visited the state fair this year. A trip to the Iowa State Fair is still possible for you too, it runs until August 21st. It is one of the most famous fairs in the country. In fact, it is listed as one of the must see events in the book, 1000 Places to See Before You Die. If you have the chance to check it out, let us know what inspired you at the fair.
