There’s two sets of twins in one family that I had to make quilts for—one set was due the end of November, but came early due to an emergency c-section on October 2. But, since I had time to make the other set of twins’ quilts that are due the end of December, I chose the Odd Fellows Blocks (funny name for twin girls, huh?!) I used charm packets for these. I started quilting on September 1 and finished all four quilts, plus diaper changing pads by October 16, 2010 – the day of the second baby shower in Chicago, IL and I live in Fort Wayne, IN. I fell in love with the Meadow Brook pattern from the May/June 2010 issue of Fons and Porter’s Love of Quilting. I just knew I had to do it, but I put the four blocks together which makes for a secondary pattern. Everybody loved them and so did I–so much so I’m thinking about bringing the idea to our Sisters of the Cloth Quilting Guild and asking everybody to make one to share so it can really be scrappy by having a block exchange. Thanks so much for putting it in the magazine. I look forward to receiving each magazine to see what’s new.
