|Each year, quilt industry companies generously donate thousands of dollars for breast cancer research—quite fitting when you consider that the majority of their customers are women. Because October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re recognizing these companies’ efforts.
Bernina® has given more than $550,000 to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation through sales of its Artista sewing machines, heart-shaped pins, and funds raised by an annual 5K walk/run.
For every yard of Pink Ribbon fabric sold, P&B Textiles donates 20 cents to breast cancer research. Quilting Treasures™ by Cranston® produces Karen Neuburger’s Pink Ribbon Signature Collection, and is guaranteeing a minimum donation of $75,000 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Other companies’ products for quilters that help the effort to find a cure for breast cancer include Northcott’s Quest For a Cure™ fabric collection, Marcus Brothers Pink Ribbon and Love & Hope collections, Robert Kaufman’s Joie de Vivre collection by Luana Rubin, Loralie Designs’ On the Mend fabrics, Olfa’s Deluxe Pink 45mm Rotary Cutter and Pink Self-Healing Rotary Mat, and Nifty Notions’ Cut for the Cure Rulers by Kaye England.
We urge you to look for these products at your favorite quilt shop. If you like them, purchase some to support breast cancer research.
