  1. I'm making this quit. I have run into a bit of a problem. I found the half-square triangles cut from the three-inch yellow stripe and dark blue fabric squares are too small to fit properly on the four corners of the inner star unit.

  2. Not only are the triangles referenced above entirely too small, but the white ones used for section 4 of the outer star units is too small as well. AND the instruction to cut 40 strips for the rectangles on the outer star unit is also incorrect. There are 10 blocks which use one of the two color ways. Each of these 10 blocks has 4 outer star units. Each outer star unit has two rectangles. So 10 x 4 x 2 is 80 — NOT the 40 instructed in the quilt. The 1/2 yard of the two colors used here will not provide enough for the correct number of strips.
I had purchased all of the white fabric that my local quilt store had in stock. I was very lucky that I was able to find additional yardage on line. Now, I am finding that I have to search out more yardage for the outer star units. I am extremely disappointed that this pattern is so inaccurate!!!!

    1. Thank you for your comment alerting us to the cutting error in Stellar Circles! You are correct, you should have 80 of each of the solids for the blocks. We try very hard to have error-free instructions, but once in awhile, something gets past us. We also agree that the white triangles for Outer Star Unit foundations should be larger. They are exactly the right size as written, and will work with very careful placement, but ideally they should be larger.
We’ve placed a correction on our website, which you can view here. Thanks for keeping us on our toes! And, we apologize for the inconvenience.
