Hosted by the Berea Arts Council, Quilt Extravaganza is in its seventh year. Nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, Berea is home to the second largest quilt show in Kentucky. In a region where the art of quilt making has been shared for generations, the process of making both functional and visually exciting fiber art continues to be enthusiastically pursued. Visitors from across the United States and countries around the world have attended Berea’s Quilt Extravaganza. The Community Quilt Show displays both traditional and artistic quilts. The Quilt Artists of Kentucky have chosen this event for their annual exhibit. Each year this event draws more visitors, more quilts for the Community Quilt Show, and more vendors offering the newest tools, supplies, and techniques. The Berea Arts Council is a non-profit educational and cultural organization dedicated to promoting and encouraging an appreciation for quilts and quilt making as an art form and as a reflection of individual and national heritage.
