Oreo Ice Cream Dessert

28 Oreo cookies, crushed
1/2 c. butter, melted
1/2 gal. vanilla ice cream
1 bar German chocolate sweet (green package)
1/2 c. butter
2/3 c. sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
2/3 c. evaporated milk
1 tsp. vanilla
9 oz Cool Whip®

Mix together crushed oreo cookies and melted butter, press into bottom of 9x13 pan. Spread ice cream on top, and put into freezer. Melt chocolate bar with butter. Stir in sugar, salt, evaporated milk. Cook 4 minutes until it starts to thicken. Add vanilla and set aside to cool. Take desert out of freezer and spread chocolate over ice cream. Top with Cool Whip, and chopped nuts if desired. KEEP IN FREEZER COVERED.
