Grandma’s Favorite Quilt

Grandma's Favorite Quilt
Grandma’s Favorite Quilt

Traditional quilts are always in style, and this twin size quilt, made from 1930s reproduction quilting fabric, is one of the best old-fashioned quilts! Antique quilts were the inspiration for Grandma’s Favorite. This simple design works in almost any style of fabric. 1930s prints are especially appropriate and give this quilt a summertime look.

  1. I am new at quilting and am going to start this after the holidays as my first non-kit project. How do I find out how much
of each print in yardage I need to buy?

    Your help is much appreciated.

    Thank you

    1. Hi Cleoallen – Welcome to our quilting family! It’s great to have you. Very exciting about your first non-kit project. After purchase of the pattern/instructions, you’ll find the materials listed there.

To give you a sneak peak, here’s what you’ll need for Grandma’s Favorite Quilt:
NOTE: Fabrics in the quilt shown are
from the 30’s Minis collection by Erin
      Turner for Penny Rose Fabrics.
      42 (2½”-wide) strips assorted prints
      3 5⁄8 yards cream solid
5⁄8 yard blue print for binding
      5 yards backing fabric
      Twin-size quilt batting

      Hope this helps! ~Carrie
