This exhibition highlights 15 quilts donated to the Winedale Quilt Collection by the Texas Memorial Museum of the University of Texas at Austin. The exhibit’s quilts were selected to compare the differences and similarities between quilts with geometric designs and quilts that focus on botanical subjects. The Texas Memorial Museum collection contains the earliest quilts donated to the University, and is significant for the age of some of the quilts (as early as 1814). The collection also contains the prize-winning quilt made by Beth Kennedy of Austin, Texas, which commemorates Texas Memorial Museum’s 50th anniversary and the Texas sesquicentennial (pictured).
