Denver National Quilt Festival IV
April 30 – May 3, 2009
Denver Merchandise Mart
The 2009 Denver National Quilt Festival will again feature a sponsored and judged national quilt competition awarding over $7,500 to the selected winners. This year’s theme is “High Hopes” that challenges quilt artists to “strive to reach the top to achieve the highest pinnacles of success in their endeavors – how high do their hopes go?” The Festival’s promoters feel this competition’s theme is quite fitting for a nation that is enthusiastically moving forward with High Hopes.
Other components of the Denver National Quilt Festival include over 400 quilts, garments and works of textile art on display. This includes not only the national competition but also an additional thirteen special exhibitions including among them the ever popular AQuA of Colorado and the Colorado Quilting Council on Parade.
The Merchants Mall at the Festival will feature fabulous vendor booths with this country’s finest companies offering the best in fabrics, notions, machines, wearable art, embroidery and everything for today’s quilt artist and home sewer.
For those participants who want to sharpen their skills, the Festival also has a complete educational conference offering workshops and lectures presented by some of the nation’s best known instructors.
Brother, Quilters Newsletter, Coats & Clark and Tin Lizzie Eighteen generously sponsor this show.
