This quilt is one in a series based on English Wedgewood Jasperware, a distinctive pottery that features white decoration on a blue background. Its maker, Bertha Meckstroth (1875-1960), has been named one of the twentieth century’s most unique quiltmakers and designers. The original was made in Glencoe, Illinois, around 1932.
