Chenille Channels Sew Easy Lesson

Cutting Chenille
Try one of these methods to cut chenille channels.

A. Electric scissors make quick work of cutting the chenille channels. The small blades fit easily between the fabric layers. Slip lower blade between the bottom two fabric layers and cut through all layers except the bottom one. If you plan to make lots of chenille projects, electric scissors are well worth the cost.

B. Use strong scissors to cut through top layers of chenille. Slip the lower blade of scissors between bottom two fabric layers and cut through all layers except the bottom one.

C. To cut using mat strips, choose a strip that fits between the rows of stitching. Slip the mat strip between the bottom two layers. Use a ruler to guide rotary cutter as you cut through the center of the channel. The mat strip prevents cutting through the bottom fabric layer..
