Reducing Drag

Reducing Drag

My machine is in a cabinet and when I sew the binding on a full or queen size quilt I found that is was difficult to handle because of the drag of the quilt. I solved the problem by setting up my card table, which slid right under the cabinet. The quilt is much easier to handle.

I drop my ironing board to the "right" height and use it for an extra table

I open my sewing cabinet drawers to use as a shelf to support my quilt as I sew. I fan fold the quilt on the drawers and my lap for easier feed. I also open an adjoining bureau's drawer near the machine and lay a cutting mat on if I need more support room.

what about a collapsable (serving) table? Can be stored away (if you don't have a card table)

Perfect! Another great use for the card table we seem to want to get rid of.
