Fan Dance Quilt

Quilt designer Nancy Mahoney made this quilt without curved seam piecing. You can see how to make the Fan quilt blocks in this quilting tutorial, How to make Fan Quilt Blocks, with host Mary Fons and guest Nancy Mahoney. Fan Dance is made using easy machine appliqué. Use the free template download in the links below to make this quilt with increased accuracy and efficiency! Looking for a refresher course on a particular type of appliqué? 1. Since the pattern is supposed to be enlarged 400% from the magazine since I can see why it's spread over several pages. Download worked great. So did the video. Thanks.

  2. I finally found the video which was useful. You could use suede/felt/wool for the black and avoid all those turn-unders! Then use the invisible thread for machine applique. If you're going to use as a wall-hanging, go ahead and use all those neat colors of rayon threads for the applique for more texture and fun! I can't wait to get started on my version!!!

  3. Where can I get a complete pattern and instructions. Can't find the video. Would really like to make this but it is just too much work trying to figure it out the way it is.

  4. I haven’t downloaded the pattern yet, but just looking at the picture I know I will love to make this quilt. I have three yards of a special flowered material that I purchased in Ireland. I have been looking for a pattern and I think I have found it!!!
