Bubble Circuits

Bubble Circuits

When Designer Susan McDermott made this quilt, she used hand-appliqué to make the blocks. “It was my carry-around hand appliqué project, but definitely a slow cooker,” she says. Try our streamlined machine-pieced version – it gives you the same look with “microwave” speed. For help using fusible web on appliqué pieces, view our free video tutorial.

  1. There is no pattern for the circles for the blocks with the circles that are not cut into quarters. Please let us know what size those circles should be.

    1. Hi Debra – thank you for your patience! This pattern isn’t as clear as we had hoped, so hopefully this information will be of use. The template for the E circle can be found in the pattern (it’s included with those that were to be cut into quadrants). Simply make a copy of the circle, fold it on the hash marks, then fold back to remove a half inch (eliminating the seams). This will give you the correct circle, which should measure 3½”. Again, our apologies for the confusion!
